A short history about the Pontiac Lemans:
The LeMans was a mid-size produced from 1962 to 1981. Originally a top trim version of the Tempest, the name was exclusively used for 2-door coupes and convertibles. The LeMans expanded into 4-door versions beginning in 1964. The Lemans gained a performance subseries called the GTO which experienced a meteoric rise in popularity, spinning off into its own series. Though this at first helped the LeMans in sales, the performance-option models suffered as a result of comparison to the GTO. The LeMans continued to grow in succeeding years both physically and in prominence. In 1971, the LeMans name took over the whole Tempest line. Physical growth would continue until 1978 when the LeMans, like other Pontiacs, was drastically down-sized to combat the effects of rising oil prices. The LeMans lost 800 pounds and a V8 engine was no longer standard. In 1981, GM rebadged the LeMans as the Bonneville. The LeMans name was revived for 1987-1993, but this was a rebadged Daewoo subcompact and had no relation to the classic LeMans.
HID (High-Intensity Discharge) Lights, Bulbs, Lamps -
High-Intensity Discharge lamps are a type of arc lamp. Light is made in an arc lamp when electricity jumps across two points or electrodes. Usually the arc light bulb has a vacuum inside and when electricity is pushed from one side the electricity jumps across to the other side and creates light. High-Intensity Discharge works in the same fashion except it has a big power booster.
