A short history about the Pontiac Catalina:
The Catalina existed from 1950 to 1981, first as a name for hardtop bodies, then as a full-size series beginning in 1959. This series served as Pontiac’s entry-level full-size model, and was available as a 2-door coupe or convertible and as a 4-door sedan or station wagon. The Catalina went through a major redesign for its third generation, losing many of its curves, but increasing interior space as a result. The engines were still 6.4 L V8s. The fourth generation regained some curvature lost in the previous generation. Catalina kept going strong through successive generation until it hit a wall during its seventh generation in the mid-seventies because of the gas crisis. Pontiac attempted to roll with it by downsizing Catalina and other full-sizes, but this would only take them so far before the line’s whole identity would be lost. Feeling the trend away from luxurious but inefficient models, Pontiac discontinued the Catalina.
HID (High-Intensity Discharge) Lights, Bulbs, Lamps -
High-Intensity Discharge lamps are a type of arc lamp. Light is made in an arc lamp when electricity jumps across two points or electrodes. Usually the arc light bulb has a vacuum inside and when electricity is pushed from one side the electricity jumps across to the other side and creates light. High-Intensity Discharge works in the same fashion except it has a big power booster.
