A short history about the Lexus GS:
Sitting between the ES and LS, the GS is a mid-size luxury sedan produced since 1991 over three generations. As a rear-wheel drive, it was meant to appeal to a sportier class of consumers. However, its 3.0 L I6 engine was no match for most of the sports car market. Sales were mediocre in the first generation. The second generation corrected this with new engine options, including a 4.0 L V8 that produced 300 horsepower and was time from 0-60 mph in 5.4 seconds. This improvement in performance, combined with a clever advertising campaign called “Something Wicked This Way Comes”, helped the GS explode onto the marketplace with over 30,000 units sold and winning Motor Trend’s Import Car of the Year. The third generation has maintained the GS’ success while adding new features such as an all-wheel drive system and Electric Power Steering. Unfortunately, not all of the bugs had been worked out, causing mechanical difficulties that, while not fatal, have been damaging to the brands reliable reputation. The fourth generation is expected to debut for the 2012 model year.
HID (High-Intensity Discharge) Lights, Bulbs, Lamps -
High-Intensity Discharge lamps are a type of arc lamp. Light is made in an arc lamp when electricity jumps across two points or electrodes. Usually the arc light bulb has a vacuum inside and when electricity is pushed from one side the electricity jumps across to the other side and creates light. High-Intensity Discharge works in the same fashion except it has a big power booster.
