A short history about the Jeep Cherokee:
The Cherokee name refers to two different lines produced under Jeep. The first was under the SJ series, and was sold from 1974 to 1983. It was a full-size SUV, available as a 2-door or 4-door (from 1977 on) wagon with a choice between a 4.2 L I 6 and several V8 engines. The Cherokee SJ holds the distinction of being the first car of its type to be market as a “sport utility vehicle. It was also named Four-wheeler of the Year by Four Wheeler magazine for 1974.
The second line was the Cherokee XJ. Its innovative style and performance made a huge impact on the SUV market. Years after its release Automobile Magazine named it one of the 20 greatest cars of all time. It was designed to compete with the Chevy Blazer in terms of size, outdoing the Blazer by creating a four-door model. To prevent rollover, the powertrain was made considerably lighter with a smaller engine. In 1997, the XJ was redesigned to be aerodynamic and to have a smoother ride. Though performance improved, the XJ was deemed an “aging, somewhat bland” SUV by incoming executive Wolfgang Bernhard, and the line was discontinued in 2001.
HID (High-Intensity Discharge) Lights, Bulbs, Lamps -
High-Intensity Discharge lamps are a type of arc lamp. Light is made in an arc lamp when electricity jumps across two points or electrodes. Usually the arc light bulb has a vacuum inside and when electricity is pushed from one side the electricity jumps across to the other side and creates light. High-Intensity Discharge works in the same fashion except it has a big power booster.
