A short history about the Honda Insight:
The Insight is hybrid produced as a subcompact 3-door hatchback from 2000 to 2006 and revived in 2010 as a compact 5-door hatchback. It was the first hybrid of any kind in North America. The single-minded mission of the first generation Insight was of fuel economy. The design was as aerodynamic as possible. Options were scarce for 2000 lacking even a fully automatic transmission. This, along with a mostly aluminum and plastic construction, was done in order to reduce the car’s weight as much as possible. This produced a fuel economy of 70 miles per gallon, which continues to be the best among any current competition. The second generation has seen some drop-off in fuel economy, in part due to its expansion to a 4-door. It is, however, still the least expensive hybrid in the United States and continues to outsell its competition.
HID (High-Intensity Discharge) Lights, Bulbs, Lamps -
High-Intensity Discharge lamps are a type of arc lamp. Light is made in an arc lamp when electricity jumps across two points or electrodes. Usually the arc light bulb has a vacuum inside and when electricity is pushed from one side the electricity jumps across to the other side and creates light. High-Intensity Discharge works in the same fashion except it has a big power booster.
