The Original HID Lighthouse Xenon Conversion Kit - HIDLighthouse.com

Chevy El Camino HID Lights, Xenon Conversion Kits, Replacement Bulbs

We at the HID Lighthouse are excited to equip your Chevy El Camino with the exceptional HID lamps specific for your vehicle. Standard halogen lamps do not allow for optimum clarity at night, creating safety problems for you and other drivers. HID, or xenon lamps, are created specifically for humans to see as clearly as possible while driving in the evening.

The informational video above explains how HID technology mimics actual sunlight by utilizing a special color spectrum. This enables drivers to make clear distinctions on the road. Objects that would have been unclear with halogen lamps are perfectly contrasted and colored with the xenon lamps. This way the driver is provided with ample time to make corrections while driving.

HID lights come in a range of colors, from yellow to white to blue to purple. The lower the number the “warmer” the color and the higher the number the “cooler” the color. When it comes to car headlights you want HID lights that are going to be from 3000K for super bright yellow fog lights to white, blue and purple headlights. The standard white is what most people have and not all colors are legal, unfortunately.

A short history about the Chevy Camino:

The Chevy El Camino was a coupe utility vehicle, classified as a truck in North America, though based on Chevy’s car lines. It was produced from 1959-1960, and again from 1964-1987 through five generations. The El Camino originally sold with a 3.9L I6 engine standard and was specially equipped with air shock absorbers to compensate for greater loads than would be expected on an ordinary car. It is traditionally thought of as a quintessential 70s car. The character Steven Hyde from TV’s That 70’s Show drives a black 70s era El Camino. It was discontinued in 1987, and attempts to revive the brand have never gotten beyond the concept phase.

HID (High-Intensity Discharge) Lights, Bulbs, Lamps -

High-Intensity Discharge lamps are a type of arc lamp. Light is made in an arc lamp when electricity jumps across two points or electrodes. Usually the arc light bulb has a vacuum inside and when electricity is pushed from one side the electricity jumps across to the other side and creates light. High-Intensity Discharge works in the same fashion except it has a big power booster.
